Stephen C. Brewer

Stephen C. Brewer, M.D., was raised in a small Midwestern town in Ohio, the son of a country veterinarian. He graduated from The Ohio State University and the Medical College of Ohio, and then completed a Family Medicine residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He began his professional career as a small-town doctor and later moved to Cincinnati, where he started and developed a successful group family practice. During this time he became interested in alternative therapies. He studied a form of hypnosis called guided imagery, trained in medical acupuncture at UCLA, and completed a Fellowship of Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona under the direction of Dr. Andrew Weil.

Dr. Brewer became the first medical director of the TriHealth Hospital Integrative Medicine Department in Cincinnati. In 2004 he assumed the role as Medical Director at the Canyon Ranch Health Resorts in Tucson, Arizona. At Canyon Ranch, Dr. Brewer, along with his co-author Peggy Wagner, have organized and developed the Canyon Ranch Peak Performance Program.
