Heal Your Inner Auto
I’m glad so many of you enjoyed last week’s post about my Smart Car. I’d like to continue by talking about the relationship between your body and your car.
Your car is an extension of you, just like everything and everyone are extensions of you, so put some love into your car, and then send love out to everyone around you on the streets and the highways. I also believe that the parts of your car are similar to the parts of your body.
For instance, one of my Hay House staff felt that she had “no vision,” she could not see where her life was going or where she wanted it to go. Then one morning she woke up and found her windshield smashed.
Another person, a friend of mine, felt that he was “stuck” in his life. He was not moving forward or moving backward, in fact he wasn’t moving at all. Then one day when he left work, his tire was flat and he couldn’t move anywhere. I know it may sound silly at first, but it’s fascinating to me that the terminology that these people used to describe their current mental state also related to their cars.
“Having no vision” means that you can’t see in front of you. The windshield is a perfect metaphor, likewise “being stuck” is a perfect example of a flat tire.
The next time something happens to your car, make a note as to what you feel the broken part represents and see if you can connect it to how you are feeling at that particular moment. You may be surprised at the results.
One day I will write a little book and call it Heal Your Automobile. :)
This week’s affirmation: On the highway of Life, I have found my way.
You can do it!

This is a great observation, I have found myself thinking the same thing in regards to my automobiles. Every automobile I have owned has had problems with the alternator, which I believe is a symptom of how I tend to push myself too hard in life, shorting out my energy system in the process.

Interesting, particularly since I've had a similar experience and not just with my car, my computer too. Seems the mechanical devices we use everyday can use some TLC too, and run better when they're appreciated. We all "run" better when we're appreciated.

I completely agree. I was in an abusive relationship when I purchased a brand new BMW. I got into 3 accidents within the first year of having my car. I felt that my life was crashing around me and so was my car. Relationship over and my car is doing fabulously! Thanks for your blog. You are an inspiration!

Hi Louise, I am considering signing myself into the pshyc ward at our local hospital today. I'm not sure if it's the right or wrong thing to do. I landed there after a recent car accident. They must have thought I was suicidal. l'm having trouble relating to my husband recently. He's a such a good person but we seem miles apart.

I hesitate to leave my kids/dogs, but if our arguments are damaging to myself/my kids, I should go for sure. I love the people there by the way, they mistake me for their nurse. I can feel other peoples physical pain sometimes though, so probably best not to make that a career. I have a good doctor, I'll go pray about the right thing to do here.

I love your Smart Car! I have been much happier since I bought my red Mini Cooper, it is fun and it has made me fun. However one day my car was not driving right... in checking it, I had a almost flat tire in the front.... I now realize that I was low and so my tire was low ! Now I keep myself pumped up !!

This is a very interesting concept and observation! My vehicle's windshield has been leaking when it rains. You've stirred my curiousity......I'm going to have to sit and contemplate how this relates to something going on in my life.

My car has a lot of dents and dings. It looks horrendous, and I'm embarrassed to have anyone ride in it. I want a smooth luxurious hybrid with bells and whistles that has cruise control! I've been feeling broken, like I have too many dings in my being that can't be fixed. I just need to let it go, like a lot of things that aren't serving me.
