You Can Be Happier
It is said that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. We are all students, and life always has another lesson to teach us.
I am so proud to have Robert Holden in our Hay House family. He’s so adorable, too. This picture is one of my favorites. It was taken at one of the I Can Do It! Conferences when I was having fun touching up Robert’s makeup before going onstage!
When Robert wrote his wonderful book, Be Happy, he asked if I would write the foreword. I said, “Sure.” I expected to fly through the book and write something quickly. Little did I know that I would become so immersed in the Happiness Course that it took me several days to read the book and do the exercises.
It was an eye-opening experience as I was encouraged to go deeply into myself to discover and begin to release the unnoticed pockets of resistance I had to being happy (truly happy).
I thought I was a happy person and I was. Now after completing the course, I am happier on a deeper, quieter level. I also notice that I am happiest when I am being grateful. Thank you, Robert. This student was definitely ready for you, my latest teacher.

Louise, what a great example you are of being a life long learner, Zen invites us to cultivate a beginner's mind, Jesus told us to aspire to be child like, to be teachable. There is no age limit! This ought to be good news and set us free from the unreasonable expectation that we'll reach an age where we know it all!

Quite a few years back, I thought I had reached the top of some sort of mountain. It was beautiful there, amazing. I wanted to know what was next, I felt lost, like it was all over. I now realize I was just being shown the very first step. I feel more like a toddler than a child of this universe. It's good, love it.
