In Western numerology (created by the Greek mystic and mathematician, Pythagoras 2500 years ago), there are “7 Core Numbers” calculated from your name and date of birth that tell the story of your life. Out of these 7 numbers, your Destiny Number (also known as the Expression Number) is the sec­ond-most-significant of all.

Calculated from your “original birth certificate name”, your Destiny Number reveals your mission in this life and what you’re destined to accomplish in order to reach your full potential. Along with your Life Path Number which is calculated from your date of birth, your Destiny Number should be taken into consideration when making career choices. 

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR DESTINY NUMBER

Step 1: Using the letter-and-numbers chart above match the relevant numbers to the letters in your ‘full, original birth certificate name (regardless of whether you currently use that name or not). Even if you were adopted and have since changed your name through marriage or other means, this is the name to use to calculate your Destiny Number. Be sure to include your entire name and check the spelling is correct too.

Step 2: Add up each name separately and add any double-digit numbers together until you get several single-digit totals. If a name adds up to 11 or 22 don’t add the 11 or 22 together to get a single digit 2 or 4, keep them as 11 or 22. Let’s use Mary Ann Smith as an example:

4+1+9+7               1+5+5                    1+4+9+2+8

   21 (2+1=3)        11 (stays 11)       24 (2+4=6)

Step 3: Add your single digit totals (and 11 and 22 if applicable) together. Continue adding your double-digit number total together until you get a single digit Destiny Number between 1 and 9, unless it totals 11 or 22, which then becomes an 11/2 or 22/4 Destiny Number.

3 + 11 + 6 = 20

2+0 = 2 Destiny Number
