Does Your Neck Hurt?Maybe it’s time to speak up.
Have you ever noticed that a lot of movies especially comedies have a character wearing a neck brace? In the recent film, Whip It, it’s Drew Barrymore. She plays one of the Roller Derby Queens who often gets in fights and in-between games, she can always be seen in a cervical collar. And I, and all the other people in the theater, laughed like hyenas when we watched her stiffly walk around with this head gear.
In the movie, My Cousin Vinny, there is also a very funny scene set in a bar with a man wearing a huge plastic cervical collar. And we laughed again. In various old-time cartoons, many characters show up with neck braces due to apparent osteoarthritic cervical degenerative disc disease, or whiplash. Daffy Duck must have a good insurance policy because the numerous collisions and fights he gets into almost always involve a neck injury that is treated with a cervical/neck collar. Animation artists wouldn’t draw in a neck brace on Porky Pig or other characters unless we laughed. But why?
You have to laugh, otherwise there’s nothing else to do but cry if you struggle with difficult -to-treat neck problems. In medical intuition, cervical neck pain is a 5th Chakra issue. The health of your neck (thyroid, jaw and the rest of your 5th chakra) depends on you having a healthy capacity to communicate with others, i.e. saying the right thing at the right time with the right amount of emphasis. And if you have difficultly with getting through to someone or communicating with them, your 5th Chakra intuitive advisor, your neck is more likely to give you chronic problems.
