“Then you should say what you mean,” the March Hare explained to Wonderland's adventuress. “I do,” Alice hastily replied; “at least - at least I mean what I say - that's the same thing, you know.” Like Lewis Carroll's March Hare, the third month of the year delivers legendary lessons about belief, loving the moment, and exercising inner-strength.

March's first day of spring was once the time for entertaining young virgins in the fields, there in dalliance to set an example in fertility for nature to follow. Our bodies change with the seasons, and so, too, do the comedies and dramas of our family.

The Kitchen Tarot, when blended with the philosophy of numerology provides timely and tasty food-for-thought for everyone who's hungry for a happy home life. March brings to the table the numerology-energy number Eight— 3+2+0+1=8— channeled by the Kitchen Tarot's card 8: The Skillet. Put on an apron and start setting the banquet table, because talk isn't going to cook the rice this month. Save your breath to cool your porridge.

Eight has long been considered a lucky number in Asian culture because it's a homonym for wealth and prosperity in many dialects. In India, eight is the number of the petals of the lucky and spiritual lotus plant. Muslims believe there are seven hells but eight paradises, signifying God's mercy. Willpower will be required for March's challenges, and the Skillet confirms that you absolutely do possess the fortitude required to endure the difficulty. Don't get burned by fear— marinate in self-confidence!

The skillet, especially cast-iron ones, will last a lifetime, and is both lord and lion of the kitchen. It requires muscle power seasoned with elbow grease in order to master. When matters around the home become hard to digest, invoke the Skillet's heaviness and strength. The Skillet's red-hot heart reminds us that fire— symbolic of passion, energy, and lust— is a thing to be feared, respected, and controlled. With willpower and intelligence, we make fire our tool. Refuse to become fried by frustration this month. Invoke your inner lion. Walk proudly, and carry a hefty skillet.

March's tarot numbers say it's time to kick your self-confidence up a notch. Regarding home finances and relationships with family, the Skillet favors taking the lead and wearing the crown. Recognize when it's time to move on, or remove yourself from difficulties. Arcanum 8's lessons for March are the stuff that mom taught us as children. You owe it to your future to acknowledge what is going on, formulate what you're going to do about it, and get more aggressive about feeling happy. The Skillet heralds the time for doing more about what's best for you. Refuse to buy into the pressure to be someone else. Reunite with the person you were destined to be, and get back to where you once belonged.

Adding to March’s Kitchen Tarot recipe, astro-wise, retro Mercury, Mars and Saturn suggests returning to unfinished projects, and reviewing notes from old classes or brainstorming sessions. Freshen up the frameworks you created in the past, when things were moving along at a faster rate and toss in some spice. Don’t bang the puzzle piece to make it fit, now. March isn’t the time to write a new chapter; it’s time for editing the ones you  have.  When you greet life with a patient, loving smile, you'll find love and something to smile about.

March's Kitchen Tarot Affirmation is: My inherent strength is unlimited.
