TO OVERCOME THE FEAR of making mistakes, aim for success, not perfection.

When a medium has trust in their work it boosts their signal to the spirit world. Also, trusting the spirit world is important because sometimes what comes through seems so trivial and yet it could mean so much to your sitter. An instance of this happened to me recently and it proved to me that as a medium, mine is not to reason why, but just to give what I am getting.

A lady in her mid-forties was sitting in the chair opposite me and I was proceeding to give her the general rundown of how a private sitting should work when I heard the voice of a young man by my left ear, saying ‘Mum, I’m here.’ I told the woman that she had a son in the spirit world and he was communicating already. Soon I had established his name and how he passed away and many features of his life. All seemed to be going well until his mother asked me if I could ask him about the code that they had made just before he died. I sent out the thought to her son and nothing came back.

The woman’s face fell and I could tell that she had lost all faith in what I was doing. I tried to explain that her son was trying to give as much information about himself as possible in the half-hour that was allotted for his mother’s sitting. I often look on a private sitting as the spirit person getting a chance to make a phone call. If you can imagine what you would say to your family in what might be a one-time-only call, I’m sure it would not be a very measured and concise conversation.

Finally, as the woman stood up to depart, I heard her son suddenly call out ‘Clover!’ At this she stared at me, shocked. Tears began to run down her cheeks. ‘Oh my God!’ she gasped. This was the code that they had agreed on. When the boy was very young he had found a four-leafed clover for his mother while on holiday in England. Then in his late teens he had been found to have cancer and it was while he was in hospital that he and his mother had agreed on the code that he would use if he could communicate with her after death.

It is quite amazing to watch the reaction on someone’s face when a certain piece of evidence comes through from the Other Side. Sometimes just a word or phrase can put a light back on in a person’s life. Usually it will be something simple but so meaningful that they are moved from belief to knowing.
