Making New Year’s resolutions can be a wonderful way to bring positive change forward in the coming year. But, how many of those best intentions do we really keep? In years past, I've set some really big goals, and sometimes found them unrealistic and unattainable. Set yourself up to win in 2010.

This year, take on some easily attainable and simple goals that will give you small victories and save money at the same time - a double win!

This month, I'll be sharing more Great Green Goals. Join the Green Team at Hay House and start saving energy, start saving more money, and start stepping a little lighter on Mother Earth.

Here's our First Green Goal for 2010:

Go paperless for bill paying -

Saves Time:

Imagine saving all of the time it takes each month to open bills, write checks, and file statements away. Filing can be done by logging into your account and downloading the statements to your computer. Most agencies will allow you to access past statements for a year or two, so you can wait and do all your filing once at the end of the year.

Saves Money:

The cost to go paperless is free. And some institutions and banks are now charging a dollar or two for paper statements. You'll also save money by not needing stamps and envelopes.

Save a Tree and then some:

Less paper and envelopes mean fewer trees need to be felled and turned into paper. But, the big impact of this small action doesn't stop there. If everyone in the U.S. switched just one monthly paper bill to paperless, we could save barrels of ink and tankers of transportation fuel.

It takes only a couple minutes to go online and set up your utility bills, telephone bills, car payment, or even mortgage or loans to be paid online.

You can ePay a bill with a checking account or a credit card. Either way, you'll be going green and saving some green at the same time.
