When I first heard the word “Akashic,” I felt like someone had pressed the key on a piano, mirroring the sound of my soul. Even though the word was foreign to this Midwesterner, there was something eerily familiar about this Sanskrit word referring to the primary substance of life—that from which all things are formed. 

Since that reverberation in 1994, I have devoted myself to working in the Akashic Records, the infinite, spiritual resource containing the past, present, and future of life. What I am learning, has transformed my life. 

I’d like to share some highlights with you, including my Pathway Prayer Process to Access the Heart of the Akashic Records©.

The Records Are Not For Fortune Telling

One of the first things I discovered is that the Records are best used for illumination, guidance, and direction, not for fortune telling. Rather, the emphasis is on us, on you and me in an inspired, spiritual atmosphere, illuminating and igniting the ever-present power within us, living as agents of light and love in the world. 

What Is Meant By “Spiritual”? 

In time, I came to see that it means an expression of love, woven into the fabric of our soul. The Records hold us steady as we grow into unshakeable awareness of our Oneness with the Divine, and the essential goodness of our soul and everyone else’s.  
Your birthright is to become increasingly aware of your soul, the loving wisdom of the universe, and your irrevocable oneness with the Source of Life. Sounds over the top, but it’s not. It’s available, and you absolutely deserve it. You are also totally worthy of increased awareness of your infinite spiritual nature.

But I’m Not Psychic 

Well, here’s great news for you: You don’t have to be psychic to access your own Akashic Records! Your understanding of the nature of the Akasha and its potential determines the quality of your experience and satisfaction with the type of personal empowerment and transformation available.  

The Subtle Shift

For our purposes, consider the two of us standing at an “Ocean of Akashic Awareness,” and we are about to put our feet into the water. We’ll be using my Pathway Prayer Process to Access the Heart of the Akashic Records©, a simple, effective method that facilitates the subtle shift from regular awareness into your Akashic Records.  
Here’s the Prayer:  

Opening Prayer
And so we do acknowledge the Forces of Light
Asking for guidance, direction, and courage to know the Truth
As it is revealed for our highest good and the highest good of
Everyone connected to us.

Oh Holy Spirit of God,
Protect me from all forms of self-centeredness
And direct my attention to the work at hand.

Help me to know (myself) in the Light of the Akashic Records,
To see (myself) through the eyes of the Lords of the Records,
And enable me to share the wisdom and compassion that the Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones of (me) have for (me).
The Records are now open.

Closing Prayer
I would like to thank the Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones for their love and compassion.
I would like to thank the Lords of the Akashic Records for their point of view.
And I would like to thank the Holy Spirit of Light for all knowledge and healing.
The Records are now closed. Amen.

1.    You’ll need your current legal name, whatever it is today, not your birth name. 
2.    Read the Opening Prayer from top to bottom out loud one time, using “myself” as indicated in the third stanza parentheses. 
3.    Next, return to the third stanza, repeating silently two times, using your current legal name. 
4.    Then, announce out loud, “The Records are now open.”  

Let yourself experience being in this space. Use your words to describe what it’s like for you to be here, even if it seems very ordinary. Energy travels on the formed word. You are in a convergence zone of compassion, wisdom, and aliveness, a sacred sanctuary for a spiritual practice of inner exploration. After a few minutes, let’s close the Records by reading the Closing Prayer out loud. 
This is just enough to get you started. I know that since you were guided to read this, you can make a profound connection with your soul through your Akashic Records. Give yourself a chance! This is not magic but a spiritual practice involving dedication, time, and attention.
