Do you ever think, Is this it? Is this all there is? There’s got to be more to life than this! Is your life starting to feel like a series of tasks that you either pass or fail? School, pass; career, pass; home, pass; marriage, fail; kids, pass; health, fail; investments, fail; friends, pass. Up until this point, you’ve probably been able to achieve almost everything you’ve ever set your mind to—job, home, relationship, friends, social life, or other personal achievements—but now it feels as if there’s something missing. Maybe you’ve dreamed of running away and starting over, or it could be that you don’t know what to do next and that’s a frightening thought. Maybe you yearn for deeper experiences of love, intimacy, and connection. Or perhaps you want to feel more fully alive and present in your life, or that you’re serving a purpose larger than yourself.

Well, whatever you’re dealing with, know you’re not alone. And you’re not stuck—you can find freedom, just like I did, as soon as you’re ready to plant the Seeds of Freedom in your Life Garden and make the shift from living a life driven by external success to cultivating one that’s nourished by the treasures within you.

We all possess the power to create, nurture, and transform our lives so that we can have a joy-filled life on our terms. No one can grant us freedom, and no one can take it away from us. We were all born to be free: free to love; free to speak our own truth; free to express ourselves; and free to live life with an unshakable sense of security, abundance, and vitality. Freedom is a state of being—and by doing this work, you’ll not only become more liberated, but you’ll also become more self-aware, conscious, and engaged. When you decide to plant the Seeds of Freedom, then you’ll be embarking on a deep and spiritual journey inward to know that you matter.

Now, living life on your own terms takes courage, commitment, and consistency. Just like planting a garden, it’s hard work. But the good news is that you already have all of the seeds you need to build a happier, freer, and more fulfilling life. All you have to do is plant them in your life and then tend to them.

Any gardener will tell you that growing a garden doesn’t happen overnight, but rather it’s an incredible and magical journey. A garden teaches that you reap what you sow. So what are you sowing in your Life Garden? Are you cultivating your inner growth and knowledge of self? Or are you cultivating anxiety, exhaustion, depletion, and self-doubt? If so, then perhaps it’s time to take back some control and reap a harvest that brings you true joy and fulfillment.

As you start to plant the seeds in your Life Garden, you’ll find that it’s not about making anything happen, but about co-creating what you want with the Universe. You must explore your own needs and desires; focus on your vision; root in your new beliefs; nourish yourself with love; grow and connect with the power of your heart; and then balance, clear, and renew your garden every day. If you do this, then you will flourish with joy, abundance, and freedom.

The promise of a flower is within every seed, just as the promise to lead a wonderful life is within each of us. We are living in an extraordinary, leading-edge time of rising consciousness, and an opening up of healing and growth. If there is any time to plant your garden, it’s now. You can create a purposeful and authentic life aligned with your highest self. You can grow your own Life Garden so that you’re able to handle any storms or seasons. In the Life Garden, the definition of success isn’t based on money, fame, or accomplishments; it’s based on each individual plant doing its best with what it’s given.

You get to choose your own path and create your own garden . . . and if you’re ready to take responsibility for your life, dedicate the time to do the work, and fully embrace life, then the destination will be the same. Be easy on yourself. It took you an entire lifetime to get where you are today, so don’t expect everything to change in an instant. You will experience your own Life Garden, a place where your existence in the world matters—a place where you can tune in to the invisible messages and spirit of nature, share your gifts with the world, and just be you.
