Replenish Your Soil
On many weekends, you will find me in my backyard planting wonderful new flowers, seeds, and vegetables. The soil where I live is poor. What I’ve done to replenish it is to put in some good soil every time I plant something new. But there are still many areas left around my house that need nurturing and attention.
Yesterday, I decided that I was going to mulch the entire garden with about two inches of a really good compost mulch. Mulching will help you enrich your soil. It will also help you save water because it holds moisture. I started with three bags. Then when I looked at how much ground was left, I thought, Oh, I’d better get two more. And now I realize that I’ll need six or seven more! So, I’m a bit sore today. But when I’m done, the whole garden will shift and change because when it rains or the sprinklers go on, the mulch will start to seep into the soil.
This is enriching work and it’s fun. I’m mulching the garden and mulching my mind. What have you done today to replenish your surroundings and enrich your life?
This week’s affirmation: I am the gardener of my mind. I remove all the weeds and plant positive new ideas in their place.
