Whenever I hear people putting a lot of attention into winning the lottery, I know they’re into scarcity thinking or poverty thinking. Winning the lottery doesn’t bring positive changes into anyone’s life. In fact, within two years, many lottery winners have lost all of their winnings, have nothing to show for it, and are often worse off financially than before. People who think that winning the lottery will solve all of their problems are greatly mistaken, because it doesn’t involve changing consciousness. In effect, they’re saying to the Universe, “I don’t deserve to have good in my life, except by a fluke chance.”

If we’d only change our consciousness, our thinking, to allow the abundance of the Universe to flow through our experience, we could have all the things we think the lottery could bring us. And we’d be able to keep them for they would be ours by right of consciousness.

Affirming, declaring, deserving, and allowing are the steps to demonstrating riches far greater than we could ever win in a lottery. Forgiveness of oneself and others, letting go of the past—these are necessary steps to take in changing consciousness.

I keep hearing people say, There’s never enough money! This is a terrible affirmation to use. You do recognize that the statement There’s never enough money! is an affirmation, don’t you? And it’s terrible because it keeps us in poverty thinking. I have two prosperity affirmations I’ve used for years and they work well for me. They’ll work for you also: My income is constantly increasing! And I prosper wherever I turn!
