Why Life is Much Better When You Just Get On With It
Life coach Ali Campbell shares his wisdom with Becky WalshA few years back I was chasing Ali Campbell, the author of Just Get On With It!, as he headed towards the coffee counter at an 'I Can Do It' event in London. He was speaking that afternoon and I wanted to wish him well. As I put my hand on his shoulder exasperatedly I said "You won't remember me..."
But as he turned he said "Becky Walsh!"
Stumped, I looked gormless for a few seconds and he said, "Well you don't remember this, but a few years ago I saw you speak at a Mind Body Spirit festival and I was blown away and sheepishly came to talk to you after."
The reason I tell you this story isn't a mutual Hay House author back slapping, but because we never know the impact we have. Even a chat at the bus stop with a stranger can be life-changing. We often never get to know our own positive impact on others.
In a recent chat on my facebook page I asked "What's the number one thing that stops you living your dreams?" The reply might not surprise you: "Fear of what other people will think."
If we really want to change the world, as Ali Campbell has titled his new book, we have to find a way to 'Just get on with it' and trust our positive impact can be felt one person at a time.
In this interview I asked Ali Campbell nothing at ALL about his new book, but about all the small events and ideas that led him to write it.
WARNING: Sudden out bursts of tears, laughter and cute Scottishness maybe felt from the outset.
Editor's note: Becky Walsh is the author of You Do Know. Ali Campbell's book Just Get On With It! is out now.
